Have you ever seen something and thought to yourself, "I want to be able to do that!”?
Well, that is how Caro Designs got started! I was visiting my sister in Asheville about 12 years ago and she showed me a pair of earrings that a friend of hers had made. I was blown away. I couldn't believe that someone had made them! From there, I bought books, supplies and the tools I needed to teach myself how to make my own jewelry. After about 8 years, I took a few private classes on metal smithing and I was completely in love!

ARTIST STATEMENT
My love of jewelry design began suddenly when I came across a pair of handmade earrings and said to myself, "I want to be able to do that!" From there, I bought the supplies I needed, watched online tutorials and read books on how to make jewelry. Like many artists, my style has changed and morphed over the years. Nowadays, I am creating pieces in my little downtown studio that are all near and dear to my heart.
My work features quality gemstones and mixed metals. I have been able to successfully create two lines that are different, yet alike, and still appeal to many women. My cold-connection work features many sharp angles and geometric patterns, while incorporating organic shapes, softening them up. My metalwork pieces take on lives of their own, as I pull most of my inspiration for these pieces from the gemstones that I use.
When these two styles collide, you can see an eclectic mix of eye-catching designs. Some have a hint of edginess, while some are soft and feminine. Many of my designs are versatile and can be dressed up or down, for any occasion. My one-of-a-kind pieces allow women to have something special, giving themselves a sense of beauty, personal style and confidence.
